We are all responsible through our individual and mutual actions or inactions for many of the world’s most significant problems. We live in the moment and ignore the past and the future, yet wonder why millions of people and even Nature itself are suffering and everything we cherish is drastically changing and even dying.
We as a society know what we must do to improve our declining situation, yet we keep making the same mistakes with the same outcomes over and over. We have unending pathetic reasons for not taking care of our world and every living thing, including ourselves. We are fools for not using our wisdom and critical minds to achieve a goal of the common good. We have the power within us as unified intelligent individuals to change the world, but we choose to assert dominance and devalue everyone and everything that is not in our personal best interest. We choose leaders not by their altruism and knowledge but rather by who will give us wealth, power, dominance, and control over perceived adversaries.
Directly or indirectly, we have created the problems we are facing, and it is up to us to be the solution for the damage we have done. No one will solve our problems for us. Some pray for God to do a miracle and fix what we have done. Others hope and pray for the coming of enlightened other worldly beings, angels, the Messiah, or the gods who have promised to return. We want a quick fix!
There have been millions upon millions of civilizations throughout creation that have come to this point in their evolution. Each being in every civilization must work together to solve and/or survive their common dilemmas or continue a dysfunctional, selfish existence and become extinct.
Ironically, the answers to our survival and continuation as a species were known to us for ages, and quite simply are:
Love the Creator and the Creation.
Love every person and every being as yourself.
Care for everyone, particularly those in greatest need.
We will change and survive into the future only when we lay aside everything that separates us from the Love that fills the universe.
